Marshawn Lynch injury update: Seahawks RB is Active vs. Chiefs, fantasy owners can keep him in their lineups

New, comment

After some concern heading into Sunday, Marshawn Lynch will start against the Chiefs. We take a look at the fantasy implications.

Steven Bisig-USA TODAY Sports

Despite missing several practices during the week, Marshawn Lynch will suit up against the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday. Lynch was dealing with a calf injury and was one of the more truly "questionable" players heading into Week 11. He missed Wednesday and Thursday's practice and put in a limited session on Friday. Lynch is coming off a four-touchdown performance against the New York Giants.

Fantasy impact: After his 21-140-4 rushing stat line from Week 9, fantasy owners have to treat Lynch as a must-start despite the Chief's stingy run defense. It is worth noting that Lynch and the Seahawks are less consistent on the road, but there isn't enough here to suggest that Lynch is anything but a strong RB1 option. Lynch's calf injury was a minor scare, but it's probably worth pointing out that Lynch owners should consider Robert Turbin or Christine Michael for security as we near the fantasy playoffs.
