Fantasy football waiver wire, Week 12: Mychal Rivera takes a step back

Mychal Rivera's streak of production stalled a bit in Week 11. We take a look at his fantasy value moving forward.

Mychal Rivera finally took a step back in Week 11. After posting 185 yards and three touchdowns through four weeks, Rivera caught just three passes for 40 yards in Sunday's loss to the San Diego Chargers. The Chargers have defended tight ends well this season, so the quiet afternoon wasn't completely a surprise. Rivera tied for the second-most targets in Week 11.

Fantasy impact: It's a bit surprising that Rivera is owned in less than half of fantasy leagues. Of course, he holds much more value in PPR scoring formats. Regardless, he racked up three touchdowns through two weeks heading into Sunday's game against the Chargers. Derek Carr will likely continue to lean on Rivera for the remainder of the season. Being that he's playing for an 0-10 Oakland Raiders team, he's bound to have bad weeks. Regardless, Rivera is a low-end TE1 for the remainder of the season. He should be owned in all PPR leagues.
