Fantasy football start/sit advice, Week 9: Donte Moncrief

The Indianapolis Colts fell short versus the Pittsburgh Steelers last week, but got a huge game from rookie wideout Donte Moncrief. Can performances like this be expected going forward? We break down the fantasy implications.

Fantasy owners sprinted to the waiver wire after Indianapolis Colts rookie Donte Moncrief exploded onto the scene in Week 8.

During the team's shootout with the Pittsburgh Steelers, Moncrief caught seven passes for 113 yards and a touchdown, displaying his rare combination of size and speed that had draftniks buzzing over the spring.

Fantasy Spin: The caveat to Moncrief's prospects going forward is that his explosive performance happened without Reggie Wayne in the starting lineup. Wayne will be back this week, and how much Moncrief sees the field is up in the air.

Hakeem Nicks will also be in the mix, despite his ineffectiveness. Though he was thoroughly outplayed by his rookie counterpart, the Colts still gave him 60 snaps opposed to Moncrief's 40 in Week 8. As a result, fantasy owners would be advised to wait to put Moncrief in lineups until he can put up numbers when the offense has its regular starters in.
