Fantasy start/sit advice, Week 9: Cordarrelle Patterson remains a risky start

The Vikings wideout has lacked consistency. Can he find his groove in Week 9?

Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Cordarrelle Patterson has been a disappointment for fantasy owners thus far. While he hasn't missed a game, Patterson has only been able to provide owners with more than seven standard points twice this season. The former first-round pick appears to have all of the tools of an elite receiver, but he still has a long way to go before that translate into top-tier production. Last week marked the first game in which Patterson hauled in more than four passes, but he still couldn't find the end zone. He's on pace for 50 receptions for 598 yards and four touchdowns.

Fantasy Impact: Patterson has a good shot at achieving similar production to last week's 6/86 if the Vikings continue to keep him involved. He was targeted 12 times last week, which was a career-high. Washington's defense doesn't present an intimidating matchup, as they have given up the 14th-most fantasy points to opposing wide receivers. Patterson is a borderline WR3/4.
