Fantasy football start/sit advice, Week 12: Latavius Murray

Murray is on the rise. Do fantasy owners unleash him this week?

Brace Hemmelgarn-USA TODAY Sports

It appears the Oakland Raiders have finally given up on running backs Darren McFadden and Maurice Jones-Drew. That means we should get a good look at rookie running back Latavius Murray against the Kansas City Chiefs on Thursday night.

McFadden doesn't have a first down in his last 28 carries over three games while MJD averages only 2.1 yards per carry on the year. The San Francisco Chronicle is reporting that Murray will be the main guy after his game of 47 rushing yards and 16 receiving yards on seven touches. Plus, he also played a season-high 27 snaps and helped on pass protection in a loss to the San Diego Chargers.

The Chiefs are one of the best defenses against running backs and they haven't allowed a rushing TD all season, which is a surprising stat considering they're giving up 4.8 yards per carry.

Fantasy impact: Murray is definitely worth owning because he might get a featured workload soon, but the matchup is just too bad on a short week. He's a stash guy.
