Arian Foster returns to practice Wednesday, will likely start for fantasy owners

The Texans running back is back at practice as he tries to overcome an ankle injury. We break down the fantasy implications.

Houston Texans running back Arian Foster (ankle) returned to practice on Wednesday, according to Texans beat reporter Drew Dougherty. Foster hasn't played since suffering the injury back in Week 9 against the Philadelphia Eagles.

Fantasy Impact: Aside from the Dallas Cowboys' DeMarco Murray and maybe the Chicago Bears' Matt Forte, Foster has been the best running back in the NFL this season, at least in terms of fantasy production. Few other backs can turn passes out of the backfield into big gains like the Texans' star, but injuries have been an on-again off-again issue with him, particularly this year. Coach Bill O'Brien echoed the optimism at practice on Wednesday, saying there's a good chance that Foster will play against the Tennessee Titans in Week 13.

Fantasy owners will no doubt be itching to get him in there with spots in the fantasy playoffs on the line this week. The Tennessee Titans give up the third-most points to fantasy running backs in the NFL this year, so the fact that it looks like Foster will play is reason to smile.
