Fantasy football start/sit advice, Week 13: Vernon Davis

Vernon Davis has been bad this season, and there's no reason to expect that to change in Week 13. We break down the fantasy implications.

Tim Heitman-USA TODAY Sports

San Francisco 49ers tight end Vernon Davis has been outright bad this season. He hasn't been a reliable option in the passing game, seeing few targets and even fewer receptions thanks to poor route-running and even worse drops. He's a decent run blocker at this point in his career, but given what he's done in the past, this is hardly noteworthy.

Davis hasn't scored more than four fantasy points in a game since Week 1 against the Dallas Cowboys. He had three receptions for 21 yards against Washington on Sunday, and that was still good enough for his fourth-best game of the season. He's recorded 21 catches for 197 yards and two touchdowns this year. The 49ers play the Seattle Seahawks on Thursday, a team that has historically been excellent at stopping Davis.

Fantasy Impact: At this point, it's not a hard decision to make. Davis should not be started this week (or any week at this point) and fantasy owners should be looking elsewhere at the tight end position. Hopefully, those fantasy owners have already been looking elsewhere as Davis has been poor all season.
