Cecil Shorts limited in practice; fantasy value nearly gone

Cecil Shorts was limited in practice on Wednesday due to a hamstring injury. We break down the fantasy implications.

Jacksonville Jaguars wide receiver Cecil Shorts was limited in practice on Wednesday, according to John Oehser of the team website. Shorts is dealing with a hamstring injury -- a recurring theme for him. Given that he's at practice on a Wednesday, this hamstring injury shouldn't be considered severe, but setbacks are common with them. At this point, he's expected to play against the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday.

Of course, that will depend on what happens on Thursday and Friday. If he's limited all three days, then the Jaguars might just consider resting him. Shorts has been disappointing this season, playing in just six games and putting up just 256 yards on 28 receptions, with a single touchdown. He's played in Jacksonville's last four games and has made a minimal impact.

Fantasy Impact: At this point, Shorts doesn't have much fantasy upside. He started the season as the top fantasy option on the Jaguars (not exactly the most enviable position in the league) and is now the third or fourth option for the team. Fantasy owners should be less concerned with this hamstring injury and more concerned with why Shorts is still on their teams. He's got no fantasy value at this point.
