Giovani Bernard could miss more time, Jeremy Hill remains strong fantasy asset

Giovani Bernard has already been ruled out of Cincinnati's game on Thursday and isn't a sure thing to play in Week 11. We break down the fantasy implications.

Cincinnati Bengals running back Giovani Bernard has already been ruled out of the team's Thursday night game against the Cleveland Browns, but he could be out even longer than that. Albert Breer of NFL.com suggests that Bernard "could miss more time" and that the team will keep using Jeremy Hill even when Bernard returns.

Bernard is dealing with a hip injury that kept him out of Week 9. He had no chance of getting back in time for the short week and should be considered questionable for Week 11, even with the 10 days of rest. Hill will be the starter as long as Bernard is out.

Fantasy impact: Bernard has been dealing with all sorts of nicks throughout the year, but this latest injury is the one that's keeping him out for multiple weeks. Hill had a great performance in his absence, exploding for 154 rushing yards and two touchdowns in Week 9. If he has another strong game on Thursday, the coaches won't have any real incentive to rush Bernard back. Hill is a solid RB2 play and should be on the flex radar even if the Bengals go back to a committee when Bernard comes back.
