Montee Ball injury update: running back could suit up for Broncos, should sit for fantasy teams

The Broncos could have their backfield bolstered this week if Montee Ball returns from a groin injury. We break down the fantasy implications.

Denver Broncos running back Montee Ball is on track to get his first game action since Week 5 after returning to practice at a limited capacity.

Ball had been sidelined with a groin injury but was able to get work in during all three of the Broncos' practices this week. He is officially listed on the team's injury report as questionable, but whether he is active will likely come down to a game-time decision.

Fantasy Spin: Even if Ball suits up, there isn't much reason to expect he will be in line for the workload he had been getting at the season's start. Ronnie Hillman has outplayed Ball since getting the chance to start, and there's no reason for the Broncos staff to turn away from that.

Ball will likely be eased into action, although his role could grow as the season progresses. As a result, he makes for a suitable stash for fantasy owners, but is not a player who should be penned into lineups for Week 10.
