Ben Roethlisberger injury update: Mike Vick set to start, Steelers lose fantasy value

The Steelers are going to be without Big Ben for a while. We break down the fantasy implications.

Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger will not play against the Baltimore Ravens on Thursday night. He is expected to miss 4-to-6 weeks due to an MCL sprain. Michael Vick will get the start.

The Steelers are really in a tight spot. Roethlisberger was coming off a terrific 369-yard, three-score game against the San Francisco 49ers in Week 2, and he completed 20 of 24 passes against the St. Louis Rams in Week 3 before he went down. The Steelers have receiver Antonio Brown leading the AFC in yardage. Brown will likely see his numbers come down.

Unofficially, Vick seemed to target running back Le'Veon Bell more than any other player. Bell had seven receptions for 70 yards in his first game to go with 62 rushing yards and one score. He is going to be very busy.

As for Vick, it's not going to be easy to count on a guy with such a volatile career on the field. He does have a good matchup, though.

Fantasy impact: Vick is more of a QB2 this week, but he still a decent stash for owners in 14-team leagues. He could have a big game, especially after what the Cincinnati Bengals and Oakland Raiders did to the Ravens in the past two weeks.
