Fantasy football advice, Week 10: Who to start/sit for Patriots vs. Giants

We've seen these teams play each other before in some very famous matchups.

Games between the New England Patriots and New York Giants don't really need any extra storyline. "Super Bowl rematch" is enough, times two. This year, the two teams have the added bonus of both being in first place heading into their Week 10 game against one another.

The Patriots have listed wide receiver Julian Edelman on the weekly injury report with a knee issue. He's expected to be fine for the game. The Giants, meanwhile, will be without tight end Larry Donnell for the second straight week as he deals with a neck injury.

The Patriots travel to New Jersey for the game against the Giants. Kickoff is scheduled for 4:25 p.m. ET, and here's a look at the fantasy names to consider:

PATRIOTS

Start ‘em: Week 9 was Tom Brady's worst fantasy game of the season. Of course, even then he put up 17 fantasy points, because he's the league's single best fantasy quarterback. ... With Dion Lewis done for the year, LeGarrette Blount becomes an easy must-start running back. ... Julian Edelman has been great most of the year. He's an easy start. ... Rob Gronkowski had his worst game of the season in Week 9, as well, but he's still Rob Gronkowski. ... Stephen Gostkowski is the league's best fantasy kicker. ... The Patriots' defense is a good unit, with double-digit fantasy points four times in eight games.

Start ‘em?: It took a couple weeks to get into gear, but Brandon LaFell had a big Week 9. He's a flex play with some upside.

Sit ‘em: As of now, it looks like James White will get a shot before Brandon Bolden, but until we see one of them produce, best to avoid them both.

GIANTS

Start ‘em: The Giants are going to have to throw to keep up with the Patriots in this game. That bodes well for Eli Manning. ... Odell Beckham Jr.'s season has followed a pattern this year of one bad game followed by two good ones. Theoretically, that sets him up for a bad outing this week. That's silly, though. He's great. ... Josh Brown has been a great fantasy kicker almost all year.

Start ‘em?: After two combined fantasy points the first two weeks, Rueben Randle has four-plus fantasy points in every game since. He's not a great candidate, but he has a reasonable floor.

Sit ‘em: The running game for the Giants is a mess right now. Rashad Jennings, Shane Vereen, Andre Williams and Orleans Darkwa are a fine combined unit, but there isn't one in there worth using. ... With Larry Donnell out, Will Tye will be the team's tight end. He's not a fantasy candidate. ... The Giants' defense has been decent, mostly on the backs of the special teams. There's some reasonable upside there, though playing against New England is a scare-away.
