Kirk Cousins shredding Saints' defense makes Brian Hoyer strong fantasy football waiver wire candidate

Kirk Cousins is having a monster fantasy football performance against the New Orleans Saints. We break down the fantasy implications moving forward for other quarterbacks.

The New Orleans Saints are proving themselves to be a great defense if you are starting a quarterback in fantasy football. Kirk Cousins put together a monster first half for Washington, completing 17 of 20 passes for 296 yards and three touchdowns. Cousins has completed passes of 78, 42 and 29 yards thus far. Washington leads 27-14 at halftime, so the team will not be shutting down the passing game anytime soon.

Fantasy impact: The Saints' defense has ranked among the worst in the league all season. They rank No. 30 in yards per game allowed, No. 31 in yards per attempt and No. 32 in Football Outsiders' total pass defense. They are not remotely good and that means big things if you are looking to stream some quarterbacks in fantasy football.

The Saints have a bye in Week 11 before traveling to face Brian Hoyer and the Houston Texans in Week 12. Hoyer is only owned in 15 percent of Yahoo! leagues, so odds are pretty good you can stash him if need be. The Saints face Cam Newton in Week 13, then Jameis Winston in Week 14. Winston is only owned in 26 percent of leagues and he could be a solid option in what would be the first round of many fantasy playoffs. The Saints then host Matthew Stafford and the Detroit Lions in Week 15. Stafford is owned in 67 percent of leagues, but there is some potential there if you need another option in your fantasy playoffs.
