Indianapolis Colts quarterback Matt Hasselbeck is practicing on Wednesday, while Andrew Luck remains sidelined, according to Stephen Holder and Zak Keefer of Indy Star.
Luck remains sidelined due to a lacerated kidney, and would be an extreme long shot to play on Sunday against the Jacksonville Jaguars. Owner Jim Irsay had said he expects Luck to be back for Week 15, which remains a more realistic timeline than a return on Sunday. Hasselbeck exited Week 13's loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers after injuring his neck, but his presence on the practice field on Wednesday bodes well for his status.
Fantasy impact: If Charlie Whitehurst is forced to start, it would be a downgrade for the Colts skill position players, but Hasselbeck taking the field against a defense that just got shredded by the Tennessee Titans presents upside. Luck would be a QB1 and give the likes of T.Y. Hilton and Donte Moncrief massive boosts in fantasy value, but it appears that his return is still a week away.
Hasselbeck remains a middling QB2 option with upside for Week 14, but fantasy owners outside of two-quarterback leagues likely have a better option to roll with.
