DeAndre Hopkins diagnosed with a concussion, fantasy owners may miss out Week 3
DeAndre Hopkins missed practice on Wednesday due to a concussion. We break down the fantasy implications.

Hopkins spoke with the media following Sunday’s game. “This is the NFL and they beat us fair and square,” Hopkins said postgame. This obviously isn’t a meaningful quote, but it’s interesting that he spoke to the media. Usually, players with concussions do not speak to the media after the game. In other words, the concussion probably wasn’t detected on Sunday. Although, he had an event on Monday postponed, so the team likely realized it before that point.
If he's being placed in the concussion protocol today, his chances for playing on Sunday do not look great. He would have been a top-10 receiver against the woeful Tampa Bay Buccaneers secondary, but now his fantasy owners will have to keep an eye on him.
Fantasy impact: If Hopkins is out, Cecil Shorts III would be the top option in the passing game. Nate Washington would also be worth a look in deep leagues. Hopkins owners will want to make sure they have an alternative option lined up.
