Arian Foster ruled out for Texans, fantasy owners for Week 3

The Texans will be without their starting running back for yet another week. We break down the fantasy implications.

Houston Texans running back Arian Foster has officially been ruled out for Week 3, according to ESPN's Tania Ganguli.

Foster has practiced with the Texans for two straight weeks despite tearing a groin muscle in the early stages of training camp, but it's not enough to make his 2015 debut yet. Despite Foster's return to the practice field, the Texans do not seem in any rush to get their veteran running back into uniform on Sundays. Jonathan Grimes, Alfred Blue and Chris Polk will carry the load once again.

Fantasy impact: Foster's owners should still remain optimistic of his chances to suit up in the near future, and it's difficult to be upset about his absence due to the discounted rate he was drafted at.

Upon Foster's return, he will be thrust into the RB2 conversation, and should take plenty of handoffs amid an offense that would like to remain balanced with such uncertainty at the quarterback position. Grimes, Blue and Polk do not deserve fantasy consideration.
