Dez Bryant will make decision to play Friday for fantasy owners

Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Dez Bryant will play Week 6 if he feels good on Friday. We break down the fantasy impact.

Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Dez Bryant announced Wednesday that he will decide to play Week 6 if he feels good on Friday, according to NFL Network’s Jane Slater. If he does not, he said he is OK to sit out another week. Bryant did not play in Dallas’ last two games with a bruised bone in his knee.

The two-time Pro Bowler suffered the injury in the Cowboys’ Week 3 win over the Chicago Bears.

This is Bryant’s first practice in two weeks. The seven-year receiver was able to run his favorite routes during the session, reports Slater. If Bryant does not play Sunday against Green Bay, he will return Week 8 after the Cowboys’ Week 7 bye week.

Fantasy Impact: Bryant is being cautious about his knee injury which means if there are any setbacks he will sit out Sunday. He should be considered a 50/50 chance to go against Green Bay and fantasy owners should have options ready if he sits out a third straight week.

The Cowboys are doing pretty well in his absence. Terrance Williams and Cole Beasley have filled in nicely for the Cowboys’ deep threat and tight end Jason Witten is providing a solid passing option as usual. It is looking like Bryant will be able to play Sunday, but in the event he does not, expect Williams, Beasley, and Witten to continue to be rookie QB Dak Prescott’s go-to targets.
