Eddie Lacy unlikely to be available for fantasy owners on Week 7 TNF

The Green Bay Packers are likely to be without running back Eddie Lacy in Week 7. We break down the fantasy implications.

The Green Bay Packers have a short week leading up to Thursday Night Football, and it appears they might not have Eddie Lacy on hand for the game. ESPN’s Ed Werder is reporting a source said “I can’t see him playing,” in describing Lacy’s ankle injury.

The Packers running back entered Week 6 with the ankle injury, and was listed as questionable. He played, but had to leave the game several times due to the injury. He finished the game rushing 16 times for 65 yards. Aaron Rodgers scrambled three times for seven yards, wide receiver Ty Montgomery rushed three times for six yards, and fullback Aaron Ripkowski had one rush for zero yards.

Fantasy impact: The Packers acquired Knile Davis earlier on Tuesday and are planning to promote Don Jackson from the practice squad. These moves further suggest Lacy will be unavailable for Week 7 Thursday Night Football against the Chicago Bears. With James Starks recovering from meniscus surgery, none of the Packers’ healthy running backs will have much value. Davis has a new offense to learn, and the ceiling is limited on Jackson and Ripkowski. Davis has some longer term value this season, but he is not a recommended play in Week 7.
