Jimmy Garoppolo injury update: Patriots QB listed as doubtful vs. Texans

Jimmy Garoppolo is dealing with a shoulder injury that is threatening to sideline him Thursday vs. the Texans.

It looks like Jimmy Garoppolo will miss the New England Patriots' Week 3 matchup with the Houston Texans.

With Tom Brady serving his four-game suspension, Garoppolo has been on fire through his first two NFL starts. However, Garoppolo suffered a sprained AC joint during last week's 31-24 win over the Miami Dolphins.

It is looking more and more like Garoppolo will miss this game, but the team is holding out hope he can play. If he does suit up, Garoppolo would suddenly become a very interesting fantasy play this week.

In two games, the third-year passer has thrown for 498 yards and four scores while missing the second half of last Sunday's win over the Dolphins.

Fantasy Impact: Garoppolo would be worth starting vs. the Texans if healthy, but an AC joint sprain will, at the very least, limit his passing if he does suit up. It looks more likely that Jacoby Brissett will get the nod. Yahoo! is not even ranking Garoppolo among their top 33 quarterbacks this week.

Go ahead and keep Garoppolo on your bench this week, even if by some miracle he plays vs. Houston.
