Fantasy football start/sit advice, Week 3: LeGarrette Blount a tricky play vs. Texans

New, comments

LeGarrette Blount is normally a solid fantasy running back, but he is in a tough situation this week that could keep him on the bench.

With the New England Patriots dealing with quarterback issues, they have relied heavily on LeGarrette Blount to carry the offense.

Through two weeks, Blount has the fourth-most carries (51) of any running back. While he rarely will break off a big run, he has consistently kept the offense ahead of the chains with 193 yards and two scores.

However, Blount will now face a Houston Texans defense allowing the eighth-fewest fantasy points to running backs. You know Houston will be boxing up against Blount with New England likely starting rookie Jacoby Brissett in place of the injured Jimmy Garoppolo.

Fantasy Impact: All of the aforementioned factors make Blount, who normally is a solid fantasy starter, a very questionable play this week. Yahoo! has Blount ranked as the 15th-best running back this week.

They do project Blount to have around 69 yards rushing yards and one score against Houston. That is decent production, but given the situation in this game, I would keep Blount on the bench this week.
