Running back, Shane Vereen, is penciled in as the starter in the backfield for the New York Giants. With Rashad Jennings out Week 3 against Washington, Vereen will surely see a more prominent role on the field for the Giants. Vereen will find himself on the field in both early downs and passing situations.
Vereen is a viable option in both running and passing downs, which means he will be a great three down weapon for New York. Quarterback Eli Manning will look for Vereen as a check down and short yardage option to help move the chains.
Fantasy Outlook: Shane Vereen will start for the New York Giants in the backfield Week 3 against Washington. With both his running and pass catching abilities out of the backfield as a weapon, Vereen will be a solid play as a RB2 or Flex option for fantasy owners, especially in PPR leagues.
