Rob Gronkowski no setbacks, will see more action for fantasy owners

The New England Patriots star tight end is closer to full strength heading into Week 4. We breakdown the fantasy implications.

New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski told the press Wednesday that he experienced “no setbacks” during the team’s blowout win over the Houston Texans in Week 3, reports ESPN’s Mike Reiss. Gronkowski took only 14 snaps and was targeted once in his return from battling hamstring issues. The four-time Pro Bowler has been working his way back from a hamstring injury that he suffered during camp. Sunday was Gronkowski’s first regular season action this season.

Fantasy Impact: “No setbacks” is great news for Gronk’s fantasy owners. Also, the timing of the veteran’s return is perfect for the Patriots, now possibly down to starting a third-string quarterback. Gronk has had ample time to rest the hamstring and will be close to full strength to face the Buffalo Bills. There in no word on if Gronk will play on a snap count Sunday. Either way, he is a solid TE1 play given he should be the top target for Jacoby Brissett or JImmy Garoppolo, especially in red zone scenarios.
