Seattle Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll said Wednesday that he “would be surprised” if starting quarterback Russell Wilson does not play in Week 4, according to ESPN’s Sheil Kapadia. He added that the three-time Pro Bowler is “pretty determined” to play Sunday against the New York Jets.
Kapadia also reports that Wilson has flown in a personal therapist to administer night treatments to his left knee in his home this week. Wilson was diagnosed with an MCL sprain Monday following an MRI. The fifth-year QB left the Week 3 game against the San Francisco 49ers in the third quarter. He did not return, though he remained on the sideline.
Fantasy Impact: Wilson comes into Week 4 pretty banged up as he faces a Jets defense with a strong front line. The Jets are more known for their run defense though and if Wilson stays in the pocket he could have decent passing numbers. Wilson and the Seahawks seem pretty confident in his ability to play, but should he be out, Trevone Boykin will get the start.
