Fantasy football start/sit Week 4: What to do with Jay Ajayi

The Dolphins workhorse is all systems go for Sunday. We break down the fantasy implications.

NFL: Miami Dolphins at New York Jets Dennis Schneidler-USA TODAY Sports

Miami Dolphins running back Jay Ajayi will be ready to run wild against the New Orleans Saints in Week 4. He totaled just 25 yards against the New York Jets in Week 3.

Fantasy impact: Consider Ajayi’s performance against the Jets an exception and not the rule. Most running backs with a pulse can average more than 1.5 yards per carry. He’ll be just fine against a historically leaky Saints defense. Ajayi can easily average 4.0 yards per carry and above most of this season.

There are a few reasons to believe that. First, Ajayi will see 20-plus carries a game most weeks. Second, he’s a north-south type power runner capable of 200-yard games. That’s something he proved multiple times last season.

His Week 3 performance was certainly disappointing for fantasy owners, but Ajayi’s bounce-back potential this time around looks really good. Owners can’t sit him based on one dud.

Ajayi must be in starting lineups.
