The move to the Los Angeles Rams has not been easy for receiver Sammy Watkins. Watkins has sputtered through the last two games, catching only one pass for 17 yards since his breakout game in Week 3. Set aside his 106 yard Week 3 performance against the San Francisco 49ers, and Watkins has eight catches for 105 yards total and no touchdowns in four games. He scored both of his touchdowns this season in Week 3.
Sunday, Watkins will face the ferocious Jacksonville Jaguars corners. The Jaguars secondary has given up just one touchdown to an opposing wide receiver this season. Jacksonville’s defense has allowed only three receiving touchdowns all season.
Fantasy impact: Watkins is kind of a fantasy bust this season. At least for the first half. Through five weeks he has one game in which he caught more than five passes, scored, and actually produced some real fantasy points. Last week he was shut out by The Seattle Seahawks. Now, he has to go to Jacksonville and face Jalen Ramsey and A.J. Bouye, two of the best corners in the league. If you have not benched Watkins yet, now is most definitely the time.
