Rob Gronkowski injury update: How to handle Patriots tight end vs. Bucs on ‘TNF’

Editor’s update: Rob Gronkowski is INACTIVE.

The New England Patriots made a surprise addition to their final injury report Wednesday, listing tight end Rob Gronkowski as questionable with a thigh injury. Gronkowski did not appear on the practice participation report the first two days of the week, but was listed as limited Wednesday.

Patriots beat writer Jeff Howe tweeted that Gronkowski made the trip to Tampa with the team. NFL Network reporter Ian Rapoport later tweeted Gronkowski is expected to play but, “figures to be limited some.”

Fantasy impact: This is not ideal, but if Gronkowski is active, you play him. The tight end has dealt with numerous injuries throughout his career. It is par for the course, but if he is on the field, you will generally not want to risk missing out on the potential for a big day. You want to keep relatively low expectations, but you do not sit him. The Bucs are in the middle of the pack in terms of fantasy points allowed against tight ends.
