Editor’s update: Marcus Mariota will test out his hamstring injury before the Dolphins game, but is not expected to play, according to Ian Rapoport and Adam Schefter. Matt Cassel will get the start.
The Tennessee Titans are listing Marcus Mariota as questionable vs. the Miami Dolphins in Week 5. According to Titans beat writer Jim Wyatt, head coach Mike Mularkey said Mariota is a game-time decision.
The good news is this is a 1 p.m. game, so you will know Mariota’s status as you're setting your lineup. It looks like he will be out this week after injuring his hamstring in Week 4.
Mariota did get in three short practices in this week, but he was limited to stationary throws. It is hard to see the Titans letting him play Sunday and risk injuring him further.
Fantasy impact: If Mariota is held out, Matt Cassel figures to be the starter against Miami. That downgrades all of the Titans’ pass-catchers this week, though Delanie Walker is the only one you should be concerned about. Everyone else should be benched, as is the case with Mariota. Even if he plays, do not expect him to do enough to warrant starting on your team this week.
