Fantasy football start/sit, Week 5: What to do with Jeremy Maclin

The Ravens wideout is struggling with his new team. Owners beware in Week 5. We break down the fantasy implications.

Baltimore Ravens wide receiver Jeremy Maclin has managed just 29 receiving yards in the past two games combined. He has also been held under 35 receiving yards in each of the last three games.

Fantasy owners were not expecting this after he opened the season with scores in the first two games.

Fantasy impact: Maclin is not having a good start to his Ravens career. Yet fantasy owners might have expected a decline given he’s another year older and a few years removed from the high-flying offense of the Philadelphia Eagles.

In Week 5, he gets the Oakland Raiders. Maclin will be in tough, as the Raiders rank in the top 10 at defending fantasy receivers. Even in a high-scoring game, it’ll be hard to trust the veteran.

Owners in deeper 16-team formats may hold out hope they can get something out of Maclin, but there are safer bets out there this week. Sit him. You likely won’t regret it.
