Fantasy football start/sit advice Week 10: What to do with Latavius Murray Sunday

Murray took a backseat in the Vikings backfield in Week 8, but he remains the starter for Week 10. We look at the fantasy implications.

Minnesota Vikings starting running back Latavius Murray had 20 touches in Week 8, same as backup rusher Jerick McKinnon. Unfortunately, he was outperformed by McKinnon in the running and passing game in the win over the Cleveland Browns. Murray finished the outing with 19 carries for 39 yards and one reception for eight yards. He had 75 fewer total yards than McKinnon. The Vikings favored Murray early in the game but gave McKinnon more work in the second half after Murray only rushed for 20 yards in the first half.

Murray will get the start Week 10 in Washington though he will share a lot of snaps with McKinnon again. Washington’s rushing defense ranks No. 17 in the league, but only three running backs have rushed for more than 80 yards against the unit.

Fantasy impact: Murray came all the way back down to earth after his 113-yard rushing performance in Week 7. Murray has been outperformed by McKinnon consistently this season. The fact that he stills starts is kind of surprising. Sunday in Washington, Murray is more likely to give up touches to McKinnon again than have a breakout game. No need to start Murray in the hopes he can get things going.
