Arizona Cardinals running back Adrian Peterson continues to be on and off his game with his new team. He faces the Houston Texans in Week 11. Houston has given up fewer points to the running back position than any other team this season.
So the question is should you start Peterson?
Fantasy impact: AP’s career has seen a brief resurgence since his move from New Orleans. By the same token, he still not as reliable as he used to be. Nobody would expect that coming from a rusher on the wrong side of 30, but Peterson’s inconsistency should make owners hesitate.
He’s been held to less than 30 yards rushing in two of his starts with Arizona. Yet in the other two games, he rushed for nearly 300 yards and two touchdowns. He probably won’t get over the 100-yard mark against the Texans this week.
Then again, if Texans quarterback Tom Savage struggles to move the ball, the Cardinals may find themselves running out the clock in the second half.
In deeper leagues Peterson has to start. The decision to plug them in your lineup isn’t as clear as it used to be however.
