Fantasy football start/sit, Week 9: What to do with Robby Anderson Thursday night

Anderson’s fantasy value is on the rise coming off a career-high receiving game in Week 8.

The New York Jets have a new No. 1 receiver and that is their second-year deep threat, Robby Anderson. Anderson has been streaky this season, but he is coming off a monster game Sunday where he caught six passes for 104 yards and a touchdown. Anderson has 75-plus yards receiving or a touchdown in four of the last six games and leads the Jets in targets and receiving yards this season with 52 looks and 435 yards receiving.

Anderson has boom-and-bust potential Thursday night. The Bills’ defense is really stingy, however, they have been exposed in the passing game, allowing around 63-percent completions to opposing offenses. The Jets have been putting more trust in the passing game with their rushing offense on life support.

Fantasy impact: It is easy to write off the Jets’ skill players, but Anderson actually has fantasy appeal. He has five targets or more in every game this season and the last two games he caught at least 60 percent of his targets. The Jets’ running game is non-existent so expect Anderson to get another five-plus target game Thursday night. The Bills get a lot of picks, but they can also be beaten by the pass. Anderson just needs one big play to have a big night. As a flex play, he could be worth rolling the dice on.

Recommendation: Flex start
