Wideout Stefon Diggs has taken a backseat to slot receiver Adam Thielen the last few games, but he can bounce back in a big way Thursday against the Vikings’ division rival Detroit Lions.
Diggs had his second-best game of the season against the Lions in Week 4. He caught five passes for 98 yards in the outing. He has a favorable matchup against Detroit again this week, though he could get a shadow from Lions cornerback Darius Slay in the outing. The Lions have not given up more than 70 receiving yards to a single receiver since Week 8.
Diggs has four catches in every game since returning from injury in Week 8. He is only averaging 45 yards per game, however. Diggs’ best game in that span was against Washington when he had 78 yards and a touchdown.
Fantasy impact: Thielen may have the most of the shine in Minnesota’s passing game right now, but do not count Diggs out, especially against the Lions Thursday. Diggs has at least 80 receiving yards in every game versus Detroit in his career. He is coming off a slow week, however, Diggs is yet to post back-to-back games with less than 70 yards receiving. He should have no problems rebounding against the Lions’ secondary Thursday.
