The Arizona Cardinals have moved to the run with the acquisition of Adrian Peterson and quarterback Carson Palmer on IR with a broken arm. Peterson has rushed for over 100 yards in two out of three games since joining the team in Week 6. Peterson carried the ball a career-high 37 times Sunday. He finished the outing with 159 yards rushing and two catches for eight yards on four targets.
Division rivals Seattle Seahawks are known for their stout defense. They have not allowed a 100-yard rusher since Week 3 when Tennessee Titans rusher DeMarco Murray ran for 115 yards. San Francisco 49ers RB Carlos Hyde is the only other rusher to gain over 100 yards against Seattle with 124 yards the week prior. Peterson will probably have 20-plus carries against Seattle Thursday night. The only rusher to carry the ball 20 times against the Seahawks this season was Lamar Miller in Week 8, he netted 54 yards and a touchdown in the outing.
Fantasy impact: The Cardinals will be feeding Peterson the ball all the time in a Carson Palmer-less offense. Since joining the team, Peterson has 100-plus rushing yards every time he gets 25 or more carries in a game. The Seahawks have held running backs in check since Week 3, however, only one rusher has attempted as many carries as Peterson probably will Thursday night. Seattle is good, but 32-year-old Peterson seems unstoppable right now.
