Keenan Allen is one of the best offensive weapons in the Los Angeles Chargers’ offense. The Chargers need him to step up Sunday against the Oakland Raiders if they hope to make the playoffs. Allen has cooled off after a four-game hot streak that started in Week 11. He caught five passes for 63 yards in the Week 16 win over the New York Jets but failed to score a touchdown for the third straight game. Allen had four straight 100-yard receiving efforts prior to Week 15. He has the fourth-most yards receiving in the league this season.
The Chargers hope Allen will have a much bigger game against the Raiders Sunday than he did in Week 6. The fifth-year deep threat caught five passes for 45 yards in their first meeting. The Raiders play well against receivers, limiting them to the seventh-fewest yards this season. Allen will have a lot of targets in a must-win game for the Chargers Sunday.
Fantasy impact: Allen took a dive at the worst time for fantasy owners. He is too good to leave on the bench though. The Raiders will try to limit Allen like they did in Week 6, but there is too much riding on this game for the Chargers. He will get a lot of looks in this game. Allen should be able to convert many of those opportunities into a respectable if not big performance.
