Masters 2013: Bubba Watson recalls green jacket win, cries at press conference

One year later, and Bubba is still crying about his career-defining victory at Augusta National.

On Tuesday, the headlines at Augusta shifted from 14-year-old amateur Tianlang Guan to the big boys, the best in the game, including multiple Masters champs, who paraded through the press conference room at Augusta National Golf Club. But defending Masters Champion Bubba Watson cried like a baby (admirably, of course) when discussing the memories of his win last year.

Watson started welling up when recalling a conversation he had with a member of Augusta National shortly after the win. Bubba was already known as the most emotional player in the game, and it went beyond "welling up" when he started talking about his plans last year to wrap his son Caleb in his new green jacket (video via

In what was a nice deviation from these typically rote and mundane press conferences. Due in large part to his win last year, and the miraculous shot at No. 10 that sealed it, Bubba is a headliner on Tour, and he'll now always be one of the biggest names in the field at Augusta.

Watson will start his title defense on Thursday at 10:34 a.m. ET, playing alongside Ian Poulter and amateur Steven Fox.
