Harris English leads the 2013 St. Jude Classic after shooting 6-under-par 64 Friday for the best score of the day. He is now at 10-under overall at TPC Southwind in Memphis, ahead of Shawn Stefani at 8-under and Paul Haley II and Scott Stallings, both tied at 5-under.
English's day featured an eagle on No. 5 to put him at 5-under through his first five holes. He finished the day with a bogey on No. 18, coming off of birdies on Nos. 15 and 16. English has now hit eagle twice over the course of his first two rounds. Stefani was steady, making birdie five times with no bogeys on the day. Both golfers hold a commanding lead on the field heading into Saturday.
The projected cut at 1-over created a number of notable casualties. Brandt Snedeker was the highest-ranked player in the Classic at No. 6 on the latest World Golf Rankings, but he will head home early after double bogeys on No. 9 and No. 12 helped push him to 3-over for the tournament. D.A. Points is also finished in Memphis, after shooting an ugly 8-over across 36 holes.
Phil Mickelson shot 2-under over two days to sneak past the cut. Billy Horschel and John Daly will be moving on at even-par, as will Russell Henley at 1-over.
