British Open odds: Tiger holding strong as favorite

He may be dealing with injuries, but the No. 1 player in the world is a big favorite to win the 2013 British Open.

On the eve of the first round of the British Open, Tiger Woods is cemented as a firm favorite to win. Woods is listed as 8/1 to win at Muirfield, according to Bovada, well ahead of Phil Mickelson, whose odds moved up to 14/1 from 16/1 on Tuesday. Justin Rose is currently at 18/1, followed by Adam Scott at 20/1.

Woods is usually the favorite to win every tournament he enters, but he hasn't won a major in five years, and has been dealing with injury issues recently. He claims that his elbow is fine, but time will tell whether it can hold up at the same course where Woods carded an 81 at the 2002 British Open.
