When professional golfers have a wedge in their hands and less than 100 yards, success is often measured in inches, not feet. Matt Kuchar was in prime position to attack the pin at No. 12 with just 61 yards left for his second shot. This was probably not what he had in mind.
That is a lot of chunk, only made worse by wind that knocked the ball down. That would have been a poor shot for a weekend hacker, yet alone a very accomplished PGA Tour pro. But even the best players in the world occasionally hit shots so bad they look like the rest of us, just ask Henrik Stenson.
To his credit, Kuchar hit a much better shot on his next attempt and still managed to make a par. That is one hell of a recovery after this:
