Update: Friday's tee times at the PGA Championship.
The final major of 2015 has arrived with the 2015 PGA Championship set to begin at Whistling Straits. With Rory McIlroy ready to make his return from injury, the field is once again stocked with the best players in the world. There is plenty of intrigue heading into the first 18 holes with Jordan Spieth gunning for his third major of the year while McIlroy will attempt to shake off the rust quickly and defend his PGA Championship title.
A lot of eyes will be on McIlroy and Spieth, the No. 1 and No. 2 players in the world. They will be paired together in the first round to form the notable group of the day, joined by British Open champion Zach Johnson. The three won't take their turn on the No. 1 tee until the afternoon though with a scheduled tee time of 2:20 p.m. ET.
The headline group may have to wait for the afternoon, but there will be plenty of action throughout the day. The round will begin shortly before 8 a.m. with the first groups scheduled to tee off at 7:45 a.m. Tiger Woods will be among the morning wave on Thursday and will be a focus of the early coverage. Woods will tee off at 9:15 a.m. playing with Martin Kaymer and Keegan Bradley. The three will be the featured group of the morning and thanks to limited coverage, their round will be the only live golf available early on.
Unlike the the U.S. Open or British Open, which feature multiple live streams and extended television coverage, the coverage will be somewhat limited on Thursday. The featured group stream covering Woods' group will be the only live coverage prior to when television coverage begins at 2 p.m. At that point, there will be six hours of television coverage, a par-3 stream and a simulcast stream of the television coverage. There will also be radio coverage beginning at noon on PGA Tour Radio.
