PGA Championship 2015 projected cut: Tiger Woods on the bubble, Adam Scott headed home

The afternoon wave is making its way around Whistling Straits in the second round of the 2015 PGA Championship and the cut line is settling in. The top 70 players plus ties will make it to the weekend, and as things currently stand, that means a few big names are in danger of missing the cut.

Tiger Woods made a couple of early birdies, but remains even on his round and 3-over for the tournament. The projected cut currently sits at 1-over and, while it could move to 2-over as the round concludes, it appears Woods has some work to do if he's going to avoid a third straight missed cut in a major. Early on, it appeared Woods might move into safe position quickly. He carded back-to-back birdies on Nos. 2 and 3 to move to 1-over. That work was quickly undone on No. 4 with a double bogey, dropping him back to 3-over.

While Woods still controls his own fate, a few notable players will be heading home unless the cut line drops significantly. Jason Dufner finished his second round at 2-over. It doesn't look like Zach Johnson will make it back-to-back major championships, as the British Open winner is 3-over. Adam Scott followed an opening-round 76 with a 75 in the second round and will miss the cut at 7-over. Ian Poulter and Graeme McDowell are also on the wrong side of the cut line.

Phil Mickelson is well off the pace, but at 1-over he will likely make the cut. Mickelson shot a 73, which included a par on his final hole to likely secure his spot for the weekend. There are currently 73 players at 1-over or better, so the cut is likely to settle at 1-over or 2-over. Should a number of players surge coming in, the cut could potentially move to even-par, but that appears unlikely.
