Golf Deer and Golf Otter have been the best part of the Pebble Beach Pro-Am

Golf deer sprints across the green, disrupting the Pebble Beach Pro-Am.

It's early at the Pebble Beach Pro-Am but so far the majority of Thursday's broadcast has been dedicated to Chris Berman's awful golf shots ... and golf animals.

The coverage opened with the obligatory shots of whales loafing around Stillwater Cove, watching the golf up on the hill at Pebble. Then Golf Otter, a cousin of the Bay Hill Golf Otter, joined them soon thereafter.

Up on land, Golf Deer wanted to join and darted through the 12th fairway and green.

And right after Golf Deer came Golf Dog, who ran free down the side of the fairway. We're used to seeing dogs down below on the beach, but this enterprising dog came up on the course for a better view.

Some are angry at the lack of golf shots being shown. But I much prefer the golf animals and local scenery to the blow-by-blow of Boomer's round.
