PGA Championship leaderboard: Jason Day bombs in 75-foot putt to take the lead

The world No. 1 is back on top at the PGA.

It's hard to keep track of who is playing the third round and who has started the fourth round on Sunday at the PGA Championship. But we're confident that the No. 1 player in the world and defending PGA champion Jason Day is on top of the leaderboard.

Before the TV broadcast was live this morning, Day was out on the course resuming his third round and making an early move. This bomb of a putt had him in a share of the lead at 8-under, and then he shot ahead of the pack by throwing a dart on his 9th hole. That tap-in has him at 9-under and one clear of William McGirt.

We're in the odd position of some players, who had good scores on Saturday before the rain came, now playing their fourth round because the PGA also opted to not re-pair the tee sheet according to score for the final round. So there are players inside or near the top 10 about to start their final round while Day still works on his third round up ahead. Whether we get through it all today and regardless of the order, Day is obviously the man to beat.

An up-to-the-minute leaderboard is here.
