A long, long time ago, Doug Gottlieb was the starting point guard as a freshman with the Notre Dame Fighting Irish. Nowadays he works for CBS, his college days in the rear-view mirror. Saturday he took aim at senior Fighting Irish center Garrick Sherman's beard and he found a response... from Sherman himself:
"@GottliebShow: Things worse than Garrick Sherman’s beard …go" your ability to stay eligible at Notre Dame
— Garrick Sherman (@gsherm11) December 22, 2013
Gottlieb was expelled from Notre Dame after 27 games. Why? He was charged with a felony for stealing his roommates' credit cards and racking up over $1,000 in stolen goods. He sat out the remainder of his transfer year and eventually committed to Oklahoma State to play out the remainder of his collegiate career.
Notre Dame jokes might not be in his wheelhouse, though it looks like he found the answer to his question from the man himself.
