It started with a homemade sign:
Dammit. A corgi. I can't resist a corgi. Just buy her the damned corgi.
The Royals did win, and she's getting her puppy. Yahoo! tracked the future puppy owner down:
"(My boyfriend) basically said if we won the division or made it past the wild card game, and if I paid attention to the games when we watched and could name at least 10 players on the team by the end of the year, he'd get me a puppy. I think it was his way of keeping me watching the games ... but I just really wanted that puppy!"
There's almost nothing better than baseball. Puppies are on that short list.
On the other hand, I have a family friend who was so sick of his kids asking him to buy a dog that he finally told them that he'd do it if the Red Sox won the World Series. This was in 2003. The difficulty points on that one were much, much higher.
