One of the first medals of the Winter Olympics was the ladies' skiathlon, an event combining 7.5 kilometers of classic skiing with 7.5 kilometers of skate skiing. Marit Bjoergen of Norway won, with Charlotte Kalla of Sweden second and Heidi Weng of Norway coming in third.
When they crossed the finish line, we found out that cross-country skiing is incredibly difficult, as they all collapsed in exhaustion after finishing 40 minutes of intense skiing.
RIP, skiers.
