The America East final was between the fourth-seeded Albany Great Danes and the second-seeded Stony Brook Seawolves, two large dog-like creatures, one of which is real. And when dogs get together, they like to play and/or fight.
Which might explain why during the midst of the conference championship game, Damien the Great Dane and Wolfie the Seawolf got into a legit mascot fight while play was live:
It got SERIOUS:
There was just a serious mascot scuffle between the Great Dane of Albany and the Seawolf of Stony Brook. Event personnel had to separate.

See! RT @travelingraytmm: Where the hell was I? Game personnel talking to the Great Dane now. That's what I get for watching the game.

Call the game -- it's pretty tight, 40-38 at the under 12 timeout -- so the teams are even. The way we should decide who gets to the NCAA Tournament should be Mascot Fight.
