Eastern Michigan's field really is gray. It looks like it's in black-and-white.

2014: We knew Eastern Michigan was putting in a gray field. But we didn't know that it would look like a 1940s telecast when they actually played on it:

We were fine with Eastern Washington's BLOODFIELD, but this actually looks like something is wrong with my television.

EMU's doing this to be different and to embrace Midwestern factory branding.
