Why in the world is this Jaguars player blocking for the Bucs?

Please let us know if there is a single salient football reason for this play. We’ve watched it a dozen times and still can’t work out why the heck Bernard Pierce turned his back to the returner and blocked the opposing team.
Normally I’d make some pithy remark about how “Of course he doesn’t want to pretend he’s on the Jaguars,” but it’s not like anyone would want to be on the Buccaneers either. Sorry, it’s the truth.
