TCU QB Trevone Boykin made a touching gesture to a young girl named Abby Faber before his team faced off against Iowa State on Saturday. Even though TCU was the visiting opponent, Boykin took a second to kneel down and have a quick chat.
The photo was taken by Paul Moseley of the Star-Telegram, just as Abby was preparing to flip the coin before the game.
The Heisman hopeful's photo is captioned:
Abby is one of the Kid Captains at the Blank Children's Hospital. She has spastic diplegia cerebral palsy, which causes stiffness in the lower parts of her body. Per her bio, she works hard at physical therapy, and she enjoys playing baseball and dancing.
Iowa State partners with the children's hospital. According to information from assistant athletic director Matt Shoultz, "Each game, a child is selected to be the Kid Captain and accompany the team captains out to midfield for the coin toss. They also receive pregame field passes, a jersey and tickets for their family to the game."
