The COLOR RUSH jerseys probably seemed like a good idea to the NFL because, well, because it gave them more stuff they could sell.
Here's what they didn't consider when pitting the Bills against the Jets in all red and all green though.
@StephStradley I’m red/green colorblind and having a hard time watching. 1/8 guys is colorblind. What is NFL doing to its target audience?— raduray (@raduray) November 13, 2015
For the 8% of American men like me that are Red-Green colorblind, this #JetsVsBills game is a nightmare to watch. No idea what's going on.— Michael Sterchak (@MichaelSterchak) November 13, 2015
Color blindness affects roughly 1 in 12 men and 1 in 200 women in the world, so this is kind of a major mistake on the part of the NFL.
With red/green color blindness being the most common type, and with there being no white on the jerseys at all, it would be almost impossible for the NFL to design two uniforms that would cause as much of an issue as these two do.
